American Horror Story had some major bombshells this week, in addition to tons of exposition. We saw the most haunting passing of the torch of all time, as well as the back stories of almost all of the freaks.
AHS opened right where last week left off: with Edward Mordrake continuing to visit the cast of the freak show. While he wasn’t too clear on the rules of it all, Mordrake seems to only take whoever lies about their greatest shame. Legless Suzi says that she had to have her legs amputated at a young age and once they were gone her parents abandoned her. She wound up murdering a man while she was living on the streets. Seal boy’s greatest shame was that he wanted to tattoo his entire body because he wanted to be feared. However, he backed out before they could tattoo his face. he felt his face was handsome and didn’t want to lose that part of himself. Upon meeting Salty and Pepper, Mordrake saw only a pure innocence and excluded them from his exams. This was a great moment for Pepper. After seeing her in Asylum, I was concerned we’d see a darker side to Pepper. Its a relief to know shes as pure and innocent as we wanted her to be. The freaks all passed the test with flying colors, so Mordrake moved on to the ringleader herself, Elsa.
